Starting on your Path of Discovery

We are providing the next generation of scientists and scientific policy makers the training and tools to address the problems of today and tomorrow.

Our graduate programs in Biochemistry, Epidemiology & Human Genetics, Geronotlogy, Molecular Medicine, Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, Neuroscience, Physical Rehabilition Science and Toxicology, include faculty in the basic science and clinical departments of the School of Medicine and the Dental School, and affiliated institutions such as the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute, the Institute of Human Virology, the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, and other University of Maryland campuses.

These programs cover the entire range of biomedical research—from the basics of protein structure and molecular biology through integrative systems physiology, toxicology, virology and vaccine development— up to behavior, cognition, and population-based genetics.

The research path you chart is up to you!
