Jennifer Aumiller, M.Ed. serves as the primary point of
contact for students, faculty and applicants for the graduate program in
Neuroscience. Ms. Aumiller has been an academic coordinator at the
University of Maryland since 2002. She received her BA from Northern
Illinois University, and her M.Ed. in Student Services Administration
from the University of North Texas. She was also awarded Employee of the
Month for the University of Maryland, Baltimore in November 2006 for her
service to the graduate Program in Neuroscience and the Graduate Program
in Life Sciences. Please feel free to contact her with any questions
that you may have about the graduate Program in Neuroscience. She is
always excited to talk about our outstanding program!
Her duties include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing daily program operations and assisting students in the graduate program in Neuroscience.
- Spearheading recruiting efforts
- Maintaining the Employee Funding Profiles for our 30 plus graduate research assistants, including commitment accounting coordination with multiple departments, programs and training grants
- Assisting in the management of the PIN budget, tracking expenditures and negotiating contracts and terms with vendors
- Planning and coordinating daily and long range plans/ activities of the program, including our yearly Retreat, Professor Rounds and Seminar Series
- Assisting Program Director and Associate Director with analysis/ reporting and representing the program as needed
- Preparing grant reports, proposals and renewals
- Identifying and pursuing outside funding, including sponsorships for symposia, retreats and seminars
